Knowing

To know what makes you successful is something we all wish we knew. I can’t promise you success and I can’t promise you the best money can buy, but I know that the best things come from knowing the creator. To know yourself, to know that it’s okay to love the body Allah has given you, comes from knowing him. It’s not about what society has taught us to believe about ourselves. It’s not about knowing the latest songs or trends. It’s about knowing the one who made it possible for you to even breathe.

When you find the belief that Allah is always with you, you will find knowingness of him. You will know what faith is. You’ll find yourself thanking him for all the good, and asking of him through the rough. You may not always have money, or the best the world can offer, but if you know yourself through knowing your Lord you’ll feel content with what he has given. You’ll feel your hearts contentment. That you’ve found the peace that nothing materialistic can offer. It’s a difinitive peace that can only come from knowing the one who created you.

It’s better to be poor and strong in faith than rich and on haram money with no knowingness. Why? Because the knowing that Allah is with you, that you have a duty on this earth, is something much greater than any riches money can buy. It’s knowing the difference between living and just being alive.

To know him, you have to believe that you’re prayers are heard, that your actions are seen, that he will not let you down. You have to know that Allah will make of the situation what is best for you. You can want, but Allah will give you what you need. You can ask of him, but know that he hears you. Know that he listens to every prayer made through the silent tears shed. Believe in him. Know that he is aware of your hearts state and know that he is the one who can make way for you. Know that he is the only one who you can rely on without being left broken, hurt or upset. He will bring you to the ones who love you and deserve you. Don’t assume you can make it through a battling world alone. Allah is there. Know it.

And when my servants ask you about me (oh Muhammed) I AM NEAR, I answer the call when he calls on me, and have faith in me, that they may be rightly guided (Qur’an 2:186)

A hearts fulfilment

There’s a lump of flesh, a muscle. In each individual. A vital clot that allows our blood to flow.

There are people. Some who love us, some who don’t. Some who bring us hardships and pain and some who offer us love and comfort.

Sometimes, words, actions and events create cuts in the lump of flesh. With each tear that strolls it feels as though those cuts turn into holes, leaving nothing but emptiness. The more cuts we feel, the more we cry, the more holes, until we’re left spiralling into a hopeless pit of hopelessness.

Do you see the problem? We try to fill these holes through people, or things that will only make us more vulnerable to cuts and holes. We find a strange sense of belonging in things we know are wrong. We tend to run back to the same kinds of people who created the holes in the first place, asking them for fulfilment.

Yet were given a choice. We can fill these holes with temporary deceiving pleasures OR we can fill our hearts with the same substance from which they initially were made, only better. Something that not only fills it, but makes the muscle stronger. Something that makes a positive change in what you see, think and say. Something that doesn’t promise to protect you from cuts, but promises to ALWAYS be there.

We can find fulfilment in Allah. He will fill your holes if you sincerely ask him. He will fill you with a sense of purity and hope no matter how deep your cuts. He can make you feel renewed. Allah knows the state of your heart, do you not think that as the creator he would be the best one to turn to in order to repair it? He is the one who can change the state of our hearts through turning to him. Allah is the most merciful, most forgiving, most kind. He hears your silent prayers when nobody else does. He understands you not just as a Muslim but as a human. So we should do our best to gain our hearts contentment through fulfilling our obligations to the one who fashioned us. Peace starts from within.  And when we learn to place our hearts in the hands of the one who created it, he will place in our lives people who deserve to hold it.

May Alllah guide us and grant us Jannah. May he forgive us for all the wrong we may do. May he make us successful in this life and in the hereafter. May he protect us from all forms of jealousy and evil. May he bring us closer as an Ummah and give us the strength to be strong.  Ameen.

The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp, the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly [white] star lit from [the oil of] a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light. Allah guides to His light whom He wills. And Allah presents examples for the people, and Allah is Knowing of all things. [24:35]

The gift

Imagine you have been given a gift. One that you could keep forever, and get use out of 24/7. A gift that could change your life. A gift that made things easy, a gift that when used, brings love, and reminds you of love and peace. A gift so beautiful that you have to be pure to touch it.

A divine gift. From Allah. The gift is the Quran. Containing all we need to know along with the Sunnah. A book. Words from God that have the power to soften the hardest of hearts, to heal the most broken of hearts. The book that was revealed in this holy month that befalls us. It may be the first time in a while, but open the book and read. Let the words touch your heart, even if you don’t finish the whole Quran in this month, read it. Watch it make a difference to you and how you feel, and take something from it. Let the words of your Lord inspire you to aspire toward becoming a better Muslim insha’Allah. Ramadan isn’t about who can finish the Quran the quickest, or who prays 20 rakats of taraweeh the fastest. Ramadan should mean something to us. We should benefit from it. We should aim to do a better job of bettering ourselves, to become closer to he who created us. It’s a month where we learn about ourselves as shaytan is locked away. A month where we can purify ourselves and recognise our weaknesses in order to act upon them. Quran will help you through it. It brings a sense of peace that is truly inexplainable. A sense of peace that can reduce me to tears just thinking about how amazing it feels to have gained such a relationship with Allah that he allows you to feel that peace. Subhanallah.

We all sin. Yet we are able to learn from our sins with asking for forgiveness. We all go through hardship, but eventually with the will of Allah, they pass. No matter what happens in your life, read. It will make a difference to you. Find solace in his holy text, as you will find it will benefit you in this world and the next life insha’Allah.

May Allah make this Ramadan easy for us to benefit from. May he forgive us for all the sins we may commit knowingly and unknowingly. May he guide us and grant us a high place in Jannah. May he make it easy for us to read, reflect and understand in order for us to come closer to him. May he help us be successful in this life and in the hereafter. May he help the ummah come closer in a world of corruption. May he bring us closer to those we love and save us from the punishment of the grave, the fire, and all evil. May he protect us from all evil. May he keep us rightly guided and grant us what is best. Ameen.

“And he taught you that which you did not know” (Quran 96:5)

Difficulties

Difficulty in all honesty is something that we all face at some point in life. It can leave you feeling hopeless, with no direction. As if you know where you want to go, but you can’t quite see how to get there, and you find yourself feeling lost. When you genuinely don’t know what to do, and you know you just need the picture clearing.

At that point in your life, there are things we need to remember. That Allah has a plan, you can try your best and you can work hard and pray, then after that, leave it in the hands of Allah. However difficult that may be, just trust him. It might take strength and tears to do so, but put your trust in him and he will Insha’Allah bring you toward whats right for you with happiness. Secondly, that whatever happens, in the end, to Allah we shall return. So maybe things don’t go the way we wanted in this life, but remember Allah is always with you, and the struggles of this world (however difficult they may be) are only temporary. Thirdly, the efforts you put in aren’t worthless. You tried, and maybe things didn’t go the way you had hoped, but you still developed in the process of trying. You would have learnt something from it, and trying your best is the most you could do, just trust Allah and his plan.

It is difficult picking yourself up and carrying on when you have nowhere to go, or you don’t have much direction, but know that Allah is with you, he’s close to you, and he won’t leave you in difficulty. Just remember him and he will remember you. Maybe its a test for you, and maybe he holds something better for you, just trust him. And when you’re finding it hard to do so, talk to him through prayer. Open up to your creator, and insha’Allah he will make you stronger. The picture may not be clear right now, but hold on to the rope of Allah, and he will suffice you Insha’Allah. Allah loves you, he won’t leave you alone. Dua is your biggest weapon, and sometimes that one extra dua you make can make all the difference, so never underestimate the power of dua. You’re talking to the one who has the power to change whats ahead of you. So speak to him, and confide in him, and trust him and his plans, because nobody knows you better than the one who created you.

May Allah guide us and grant us Jannah. May he forgive us for all the wrong we may have done. May he help us be successful in this life and the hereafter. May he save us from the fire and protect us from all evil. May he bring us closer to those we love, and strengthen our faith. Ameen.

Faith in Allah

Having faith in Allah is believing that he is in control of what happens in our lives. We’ve got to remember that things happen for a reason and if our belief in Allah is evidently there then we have to trust him. Things might not always go to plan but believe in him and tell him what it is you’re working for and know whatever happens after that, is for the best. We need to believe that he is the one who sees everything we do. He knows our intentions and he knows what our hearts yearn for. He understands that we aren’t perfect human beings and he understands that we we have overpowering emotions, and that we make mistakes. But learn from those mistakes. Understand that Allah is with you wherever you are. He knows how you feel and what you’re thinking. He knows what it is you want but he will still listen when you ask him. He wants you to ask of him more. To believe in him to fully put your heart in his hands. And remember if you have Allah in your heart, you have everything you need to get what it is that you want in this life and in the hereafter. You just have to work toward it and pray for it.
Nobody promises that it will be easy. But having faith in him is moving forward even when you’re scared or unsure of what might happen. Follow your heart and keep praying and Insha’Allah you’ll get to where it is you want to be. Just have faith and trust in Allah. Stay patient with prayer and keep asking him. Constantly. Talk to him when you’re down, call upon your creator, because he will respond. Even if you don’t see it immediately know that he is there closer to you than your jugular vein so believe in him. You may not always be feeling particularly ‘religious’, and it’s normal for your faith to fluctuate, but if you let that faith in Allah remain in your heart no matter what, there is hope for you. Just pray and you’ll find that your closeness to Allah will get better. And that feeling of peace that Allah will bring to you when you trust him during hardship is something truly indescribable. You’ll only know once you’ve experienced it. The love of Allah is irreplaceable. So treasure it and work toward it and Insha’Allah , with his help, we will get where we need to be and we will achieve what it is we want to.
May Allah guide us and grant us jannah. May he forgive us for all the wrong we may have done. May he help us become successful in this life and in the hereafter. May he protect us from the evils of this world, the hellfire, and the deceptions of shaytan. May he grant our parents the highest of Jannah and may he give us strength to face the challenges of this world. Ameen.

Your own path to God

Every individual has their own story, their own views on life, and their own unique connection with god. Some may have not found their path to Allah yet, and some may have found their deepest connection with their lord earlier than others. You can find Allah through anything; sometimes he may test you to bring you back to him, you may find him through simply seeing something that inspires you, even through the acts of someone else. However you may find a path to your creator, let it be a reminder for you. When you’re feeling your faith is dipping, remind yourself of how Allah brought you closer to him. Remind yourself that no matter what there is always hope for you. Even if you feel like your sins have overtaken the good within you, know that Allah is all forgiving. Just believe in him, and repent, and if you’re sincere, you’re likely to feel a connection with your creator that nothing can compare to. faith Remember him in all you do, and when you feel like you’re slipping into the desires of this world too much, go back to that spot where you pray, and remember him, how your lord saved you when you fell and hit the lowest points, how he inspired hope in you after you prayed, how he forgives when you sin, how he’s there for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Allah is always there for you, watching you, knowing of every breath you take. Thank Allah for bringing you back into the light when you were lost in darkness. Its normal for your faith to feel like its dipping. Its unlikely that its always at a high point, but as long as you try, and you don’t let yourself fall into the likes of this world too much, insha’allah Allah will save us. You may find that the one big sin you committed, is the one thing that brought you back to Allah in the end. So we shouldn’t  judge someone based on their sins, because most of us may have a past. We can only pray for them and offer them a friend who will help guide them, because that could be all they need. As a muslim ummah we should be helping one another become better, rather than judging and dividing ourselves.

May Allah guide us and grant us Jannah. May he help us in all we do and grant us success in this world and in the hereafter. May he bring us closer to those we love and forgive all the sins we may have committed. Ameen

Here are 2 of my favourite videos on youtube that never fail to inspire faith in me when I’m feeling a little low.

Change

We all want to be better Muslims. Some of us may have more to change than others, however we all have our own individual connection with Allah. We are all on different levels of faith, so changing can sometimes be difficult. One person may pray their 5 salahs on time everyday without doubt but may struggle wearing hijab, whilst another person may be completely covered and dressed in an Islamic manner but struggle to wake up for fajr.
Just because it may be difficult to change it doesn’t mean it’s impossible. If you have the right intention and you’re willing to do something for the sake of Allah, then Insha’allah he will make it easy for you. Start off with something small, and then gradually increase the frequency, until eventually you’re exactly where you wanted to be. Don’t expect people to just immediately put on a hijab for example. It’s difficult. And it takes time, instead rather than judging that person, encourage them. Help one another to be better. Inspire one another. Allah didn’t make this world paradise. It can be a trial, especially when we live in a world where it can be difficult to stand out. But know that wherever you are, Allah is with you. And whatever struggle you go through to be better for the sake of him, he sees and he acknowledges. The most merciful, the most kind, he knows and sees all things, and he knows what’s in our hearts. Allah never leaves you, he may test you, but he is ALWAYS with you.

surah TaHa verse 26 ‘And ease my task for me’

So start off with a small step, and gradually begin to increase the good which you do and Insha’allah Allah will help us to be the best we can be. May Allah guide us and grant us jannah. May he forgive us for all the sins we may have committed knowingly and unknowingly. May he protect us from all evil and bring us closer to those we love. Ameen.

Thankful

Being thankful isn’t always so common. We usually pray our most when were in need of something or when were in trouble, then once the almighty clears our path for us, we can slowly begin to decrease our concentration in prayer. But we shouldn’t. We should remember what Allah has done for us, all he has given us, and all he has blessed us with. Allah has blessed us with Islam, and with the knowledge that he is the one, the all hearing, the all seeing, the all knowing, and his attributes go on.

Allah is the one who puts you in the position you are in, and even though that may be difficult, thank him for everything he has blessed you with alongside that, then ask him for his help and ask of him. your lord always hears you, and he loves you to ask of him and to be thankful to him. No matter how difficult a situation may be thank Allah for all the blessings he’s given you, and if you feel like you have nothing worldly to be thankful for, thank him for blessing you with iman and faith. He has chosen you to be guided, he has given you a chance to get to Jannah, so don’t blow that chance.

‘The beautiful thing about communicating with your lord is that you don’t always have to put your feelings into words.’

Allah has picked you to follow islam and he has given you guidance to do so, to make it easy. So thank him. Thank him for the Quran and all it contains, its help, its guidance, its comfort, its hope. Thank him for the gift of Salah, being able to talk to your lord 5 times a day. Thank him for the power of dua, communicating with your creator any time you want and anywhere you want, whatever state you’re in. Thank him for being able to breathe, for life. Thank him for the people you love and ask him to keep those people close to you and to always keep those people happy. Thank him for guiding you and making you able to ask of him. Glorify and worship Allah in a way that will make your life content. Seek happiness and peace through his guidance, and seek comfort through prayer. Thank him for bringing you out of the darkness and into the light, thank him for helping you when you were at your lowest point, and thank him for being there when everyone else failed to soothe your aching heart.

Alhamdulillah

Remember everything happens by his will, you can ask him of what you want and you can tell him what it is you’re feeling. and the amazing thing is, he already knows what it is you’re going to ask of, but he wants you to talk to him. Subhanallah. May Allah guide us and grant us Jannah. May he forgive us for all the wrong we may have done and protect us from all evil. May he bring us closer to those we love and may he help the muslim ummah come together. Ameen.

Sometimes one prayer changes everything

Hope in prayer is what I’ve recently discovered. The hope in Allah which is never lost, and the love he has for us. Those tears that come down your cheeks in the midst of prayer are counted. Those pleads to your lord that you say repetitively are heard. Those silent prayers which come from your heart when walking down the street are listened to. All by the one who created you. Subhanallah.

It might take more than one prayer to change something, and it make take time, but know he hears you. Even when all feels lost, Allah is with you wherever you are. He provides us with the knowledge that we can communicate with him at any time. Allahuakbar. He is there for you on the darkest of nights, he is there for you when you have committed a big sin and you want forgiveness, he is there for you when you need help, he is there for you when you need peace, and when all hope is lost he is there to inspire hope. He tells us to never lose hope in his mercy.

'So remember me; I will remember you. And be grateful to me and do not deny me' -Al-Baqarah 2:152

‘So remember me; I will remember you. And be grateful to me and do not deny me’ -Al-Baqarah 2:152

Speak to your creator, and tell him what you want, tell him what you need, and tell him often. Show your lord how much you want through communicating with him. Through remembrance of him. After your five daily prayers raise your hands to him, and ask him what it is that you need, what you desire, what you want achieve. Then thank him for all he has blessed you with. Allah never ignores the call of a believer. He never ignores a call to him. Stay patient with dua, things might not change overnight, but pray with the knowledge that Allah the most merciful, the most kind hears you. Your every prayer, your every move, your every tear, he knows.

Remember to thank him for all he has blessed you with, because the truth is we would be lost without him, we would be sucked into the deceptions of this world and we would be enticed into the plans of the shaytaan. So being able to pray to him and being aware of him is a blessing in itself. Thank Allah for blessing you with iman, and islam. Thank him for everything you have, and ask him for what you want. Your lord is there for you.

May Allah guide us and grant us Jannah. May he forgive us and bless us in all we do. May he bring us closer to the ones we love. May he help those in need and may he protect us from all evil. Ameen.
